Breakfast Briefing by the EU Director General for Taxation and the Customs Union, on the EU’s Tax Policy Agenda
September 22, 2017
Stephen Quest, the Director General for Taxation and the Customs Union, spoke at Georgetown Law on September 22 to present the EU’s tax policy agenda.
Over the past several years, the European Commission has pursued an ambitious agenda to achieve fairer corporate taxation in the European Union. As part of this agenda, the Commission has proposed the Anti Tax Avoidance Directive (ATAD), directives for both a Common Corporate Tax Base and a Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base, and an updated listing process for the Council to use in order to identify countries that fail to comply with tax good governance standards. On September 22, Stephen Quest provided an overview of the next steps in the EU’s tax policy agenda. The presentation was followed by Q&A with Mr. Quest, IIEL and Georgetown Law Associate Professor Lilian Faulhaber and members of the audience.
This event was co-sponsored with Georgetown Law’s Graduate Tax Program. It was open to the media and live streamed. More information here. RSVP.
