Acting Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, Amias Gerety, Pens Inaugural Issue Brief:
As part of IIEL’s continuing efforts to convene thoughtful discussions of global markets and the economy, we are delighted to announce our new IIEL Issue Brief publication. With this new tool, we will be sharing insights from academics, policymakers and our own student researchers to deliver short, incisive analysis of complex issues of the day.
The demand for such a publication stems from broadly shared interest in clear and intelligible assessments of complex issues impacting the global economy—more analytically rigorous than most blog entries, but shorter than a law review article and of direct policy import.
If you are interested in having IIEL publish your analysis of international trade, monetary affairs, financial regulation, tax or any major area impacting the laws governing the global economy for our thousands of high-level readers, please send your submission of approximately 5,000 words to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are proudly nonpartisan and seek only outstanding ideas worthy of sharing with our intellectual and leadership community.
For our inaugural issue, Amias Gerety, Acting Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions, U.S. Department of the Treasury, writes to share some of the latest data strategies concerning the oversight of the shadow banking industry.
