Ms. Washington is responsible for signature IIEL programs and external affairs.  She is an experienced leader and strategic planner with a strong track record of delivering best-in-class results for the Institute in a multitude of areas, including Advancement, Alumni Affairs, Board Relations, Certificate Programs, Student-Centered Colloquia, Communications, Executive Education, IIEL Fellowship programs, Professional Development and Special Events.  She has twice received Georgetown Law’s Special Performance Award (in 2005 & 2017) for outstanding performance.

For over a decade at Georgetown Law, Christine has been a frontline member of the IIEL, Advancement and Graduate Professional Development teams where her portfolio has involved the management of top caliber “Global Georgetown” programs and events on campus and abroad.  In addition to higher education program management, Ms. Washington has run recruiting programs for global law firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP and served as the executive director for the Trade Policy Forum, an invitation-only, non-profit association of women with high-level trade policy positions in law firms, government, the private sector, associations and NGOs.  Earlier in her career, she spent several years in private practice, associated with the Washington, DC offices of Wiley Rein LLP and Pepper Hamilton LLP, where she counseled clients in the areas of export controls, international trade and international telecommunications.  During law school, Ms. Washington clerked for the Office of the Legal Adviser, U.S. Department of State.  Before obtaining her law degree, she worked in the Client Development & Communications Department of the Washington, DC office of Shaw Pittman LLP.  She also has served as a speechwriter to former Egyptian First Lady Jehan Sadat, and organized conflict management colloquia throughout the Middle East on behalf of non-profit and educational organizations.
