Our Staff

The Institute's staff consists of dedicated leaders with diverse backgrounds in international law, international relations, international economics, higher education, and program management.

Our team manages the Institute’s robust program of events, including executive education programs; student-focused initiatives, such as the Institute’s Fellowship Program, the International Economic Law and Policy Colloquium, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and International Trade Studies Certificate Program; and large-scale conferences, such as the DC Fintech Week; along with the Institute’s strategic communications initiatives, partnership opportunities, and more.

AGNES N. WILLIAMS RESEARCH PROFESSOR, PROFESSOR OF LAW

FINTECH, BUSINESS ORGANIZATION & SECURITIES REGULATION

Chris Brummer is the Agnes N. Williams Research Professor and Professor of Law at Georgetown Law. He lectures widely on fintech, finance and global governance, as well as on public and private international law, market microstructure and international trade.

INTERNATIONAL TRADE & ECONOMICS, TRANSATLANTIC RELATIONS

Marie Kasperek executes the Institute’s national and international programming by effectuating conferences, colloquia, and special events. She further spearheads external relations, while assisting in advancement efforts and student-centered fellowship certificate programs, and the Institute’s annual colloquium.

ZAINAB AHMED

SENIOR FELLOW, ATLANTIC COUNCIL

INTERNATIONAL TRADE & ECONOMICS, TRANSATLANTIC RELATIONS

Zainab Ahmed is the Associate Director of Events and Communications at IIEL where she develops and executes a strategy for dynamic and timely events sponsored by the IIEL, manages the Institute’s Fellowship Program, and executes the Colloquium. She further executes of IIEL’s social media strategy and is responsible for the management of the Institute’s website.

Meha Jain supports the Institute’s financial and programmatic needs, while engaging followers through social media and website redesign. She holds a B.A. in Economics and International Studies from Macalester College and is originally from Mumbai, India.
